This year John Berman is entering his 27th year of stairbuilding and cabinetmaking. In 1981 John came to Canada and accepted a position at one of Ontario's largest stairway manufacturers. From sweeping floors he quickly moved up through the ranks. It took only a few years before he was appointed general manager and part owner.

John purchased Tremont Wood Specialties Inc. in 1999. Since then Tremont has become renowned for quality and superb service. They are one of the very few stair companies in North America who have embraced vacuum pressing which allows them to tackle projects which call for tight curves that can only be performed using the techniques that Tremont has mastered.

They can boast of successfully having completed large difficult projects in several large cities. They are particularly proud of the stairs and railings they produced for the penthouses in the upper floors of the AOL towers in Manhattan. Some of America's most famous people are enjoying walking up and down those masterpieces daily.

John's talent and experience combined with southern Ontario's top notch craftsmen working out of a 28,000 sq. ft. building equipped with the latest technology and machinery, allows them to provide unparalelled quality and service.

John is convinced that all their accomplishments and successes are due to God's indispensable blessing.
